21st ISGA Convention
Strengthining the Sprout Industry
October 17 - 21, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada - USA
MGM Grand Hotel This year the ISGA Convention will be held at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas which offers numerous amenities: restaurants from gourmet to casual, a well equipped health club, a spa where you can enjoy a rejuvenating massage, a grand pool complex with five pools and three whirlpools on acres of lush landscaping, and, of course, a casino.

Choose from a deluxe room or a luxurious bungalow at The MGM Grand. The deluxe room with either a king-sized bed or two queen beds, and the bungalow--a 675 sq. ft. suite with large bedroom and extended living area--are available at a low special group rate which averages* out to $94.50 and 129.50 per night, respectively, for those attending the ISGA Convention. These rates include the $20 resort fee and are the same for single and double occupancy. A deposit will be charged when reserving. Those who have missed the September 29 deadline for the special hotel rates should call the hotel directly at 877-880-0880 as soon as possible. The sooner you call and make reservations, the lower the rate will be. Be sure to indicate that you are attending the ISGA Convention. You can see pictures of the deluxe room and bungalow by clicking here. (Click the back arrow or button on your browser to return here.)
*average rates are based on the rates of $114/night for the deluxe room and $149/night for the bungalow on Oct. 17 and 18 and $75/night for the deluxe room and $110/night for the bungalow on Oct. 19 and Oct. 20.

If you are an ISGA member you can qualify for a 10% discount on the registration fee. Bring a friend or colleague with you who is NOT an ISGA member and you will receive a 10% discount on your convention registration fee. Send email to office@isga-sprouts.org with your name, company and address, and the name and company of your invitee. The discount will be in the form of a rebate check which will be mailed to you after verification of your friend’s registration.

The ISGA held a productive meeting dealing with sprout safety issues earlier in the year. Therefore, the fall convention will focus on other areas: the health benefits of sprouts, strategies for publicizing those benefits, and issues of importance to commercial sprout businesses. There will also be many opportunities to network with others in the sprout industry and to learn from each other.

The general daily schedule is as follows:
Monday, October 17 - Golf / Networking
Tuesday, October 18 - Black Jack Tournament / Board of Directors Meeting, Registration, Opening Reception
Wednesday, October 19 - Sprout Safety Workshop / Presentations / Sprout Fest Luncheon
Thursday, October 20 - Workshops / Presentations / Annual Meeting of Members / President's Dinner
Friday, October 21 - Departure

In the next few days the convention committee will be updating the convention schedule. If you want to know when additional information about the convention schedule becomes available on this Web site, send e-mail to icomserve@aol.com with the subject, "ISGA 2011 Convention."

If you have questions about the convention or are interested in a particular issue or aspect of operating a commercial sprout business, please contact the ISGA office.

We hope to see you in Las Vegas.
